Our goal: salvation of souls, promoting fellowship, introducing people of all ages to the Word of God, and helping those in need.
Samish Island Memorial Chapel is an evangelical Christian church, non-denominational, and solely owned by the congregation. Our church is located on Samish Island, which lies northwest from the cities of Burlington and Mount Vernon.
Our church has a commitment to strong Bible teaching and study. We have a strong vision for reaching our community, as well as a heart for missions, helping to support missionaries around the world.
In addition to our regular Sunday worship service, we offer Sunday School classes for children and a mid-week Bible study for women. We intend to resume our adult Sunday School class and a men’s Bible study, to be led by the pastor. A week-long Vacation Bible School is held each summer, welcoming local and visiting children. Christmas and Easter programs, as well as participation in the Samish Island 4th of July parade are part of our outreach ministry and we hope to include other means of reaching out as opportunities are presented.
SIMC is governed by a board rather than a synod or denominational council. To become a member of our church, one must appear before any two of the Board members to give a testimony of faith, then be voted by the members of the church to become part of our group of believers.
